ABOARD A SPORT-UTILITY VEHICLE DRIVING NORTH ON I-95 — The man on the radio a few minutes ago told us it was 32 degrees at Washington’s National Airport, and today’s high only will be in the 40s. But at least it’s a brilliant, clear day here on the East Coast, the kind of day that’s perfect for high-stakes athletic score-settling between two long-time rivals. A moment ago, across the river on our left, we spotted Robert F. Kennedy Stadium, the site of last year’s matchup between Wake Forest and Navy in the Eagle Bank Bowl. The Army Black Knights could get to that bowl game this year, but first they have to go through Philadelphia and the Midshipmen.
EXCLUSIVE TO AFTER ACTION …
Here’s a very brief game-day iReport on Navy’s QB, Dobbs: He likes to shop at Nordstroms. That’s right. Saw him — in his dress uniform — at the store in Arlington, Va., late last year. He and his mom were poking around for Christmas gifts. Take that and run with it, gents.
