Sgt. Jeremy Teela will be heading to Vancouver for the the 2010 Winter Olympics as part of the U.S. biathlon team.
Teela, a soldier in 3/172 Infantry in the Vermont National Guard, was among five Americans named to the 2010 Olympic squad. This will be Teela’s third Olympics — he was also a member of the 2006 and 2002 biathlon teams. In 2002 he finished 14th overall — the second-best finish ever for a U.S. competitor in Olympic biathlon.
This year’s Olympics begin Feb. 12, with the first biathlon event being held Feb. 14. If you’re like me and know next to nothing about biathlon, check out the official 2010 Winter Olympics Web site for a helpful tutorial on the sport.
