Good news for MMA fans deploying to Afghanistan: Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, Anderson Silva or Randy Couture may end up fighting at a FOB near you.
UFC President Dana White says his company is in talks to hold a card of fights in Afghanistan sometime around January 2011.
“It’s going to happen, but even when it does happen, we’re not going to be able to talk about it,” White said recently. “It’s going to be a stealth mission. We’re going to zoom in there, put on a fight and get the hell out.”
