Army fell victim to a 5-foot-5 running back and allowed 21 fourth-quarter points in a devastating 42-35 homecoming loss to Temple on Saturday. The Black Knights fall to 3-2 on the season after watching the Owls storm back from a 28-13 deficit.
“Make no mistake; that’s the biggest win since I’ve been here,” 5th-year Temple coach Al Golden told the Philly Inquirer. “In that kind of environment, to stay together. To be down 15, and then reel off 28 straight? That’s a big win, and I give a lot of credit to our coaches.”
Temple’s miniature running back Matt Brown, filling in for injured starter Bernard Pierce, rushed for a career-high 226 yards and four touchdowns.
Sophomore quarterback Trent Steelman rushed for 65 yards and a career-high four touchdowns for the Cadets.
