This is exactly what I (and CBS’s producers) were hoping wouldn’t happen. Barely three minutes in the second quarter and this game is a blowout. Navy is ahead 17-0, and they’ve been pretty much unstoppable on both sides of the ball. Army has yet to even get a first down.
A cadet in the press box just handed me some pretty sobering stats: Total yards so far for the two teams: Navy 164, Army 18.
