This is more enjoyable than trying to blog about West Point’s disastrous finish in its loss to San Diego State this afternoon. Last night was the annual Army Bowl, which pits Fort Campbell High School against Fort Knox High School in a battle of neighboring Army posts. Two teams from neighboring military bases playing each other? I’m not sure if there’s any other high school rivalries quite like this one. Very cool. For anyone sitting in M&T Bank Stadium this Labor Day, it’s hard to argue both Maryland and Navy wouldn’t both benefit from making that game an annual event. Both teams fan bases filled up Ravens stadium and the game was broadcast nationally on ESPN earning each program much needed exposure.
