Former soldier Jorge Rivera absolutely destroyed Nate Quarry at UFC Fight Night on Wednesday.
The referee stopped the fight after Rivera sent Quarry to the mat early in the second round. But Rivera essentially sealed the victory in the first round with a series of right hands that Quarry seemed incapable of avoiding. Rivera pummeled Quarry with strikes and put him down twice. After the Quarry went to the canvas the second time, Rivera pummeled him against the cage until time expired in the first, leaving Quarry a bloody mess.
Rivera sustained little damage himself. He ate a bunch of back leg kicks in the first round, but if they bothered Rivera, he didn’t show it. Other than that, Rivera controlled the action.
The win is the third straight for Rivera. His overall record improves to 18-7.
