After recording a team-high six tackles Saturday against Wyoming and being in on two crucial turnovers that stymied Cowboy drives, Air Force defensive back Jon Davis has been named the Mountain West Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week.
Davis intercepted a Wyoming pass in the end zone on the Cowboys’ first drive of the game to end one threat. Then in the fourth quarter, Davis recovered a Wyoming fumble with 3:41 to help secure the Falcons’ 20-14 win.
Davis also had one tackle for a six-yard loss.
This is the first time that Davis, a junior, has earned an MWC weekly honor.
