A hockey team made up of veterans, reserve  and active-duty sailors and Marines is taking on a San Diego law enforcement team for charity this weekend.

The military Patriots will play the law enforcement Spartans Oct. 19 at the San Diego Ice Arena, with all proceeds from the $10 tickets going to the San Diego Police Officers Association Widows and Orphans fund.

A wounded warrior will drop the puck following a pre-game moment of silence and bagpipe performance from the San Diego Police Department.

For more information about the event, check out the Patriots on Facebook. Email HM2 (FMF) Marv Floer at patriots.hockeyteam@gmail.com for ticketing. Of special note, Floer was a runner up this year for Navy Times’ Sailor of the Year competition.
