En garde! The Air Force is thrusting and parrying its way to the top of the U.S. Fencing Association’s national rankings. Not only is 2003 Academy grad Seth Kelsey the top men’s epee fencer in the nation, but three current cadets are in the top 60: senior Peter French (#5), junior Daniel Trapani (#47) and sophomore Ben Rinaldi (#57). Kelsey, now a reservist, has competed in the last two Summer Olympics. Its top athletes apparently have been NFL players Chad Hennings and Bryce Fisher, who aren’t exactly household names. 2nd Lt. What do Jerry Rice and former Air Force chief of staff T. Michael Moseley have in common? They’ve both been on the same team as Joe Montana. Moseley isn’t catching passes, though, he’s serving on the board of directors of a Florida technology company. (Although maybe Montana will break out the old pigskin at a board meeting or two.)
