The San Antonio Spurs paid tribute to David Robinson on Monday night, honoring one of the best centers in NBA history for his entry in the basketball hall of fame. Robinson, a former Navy officer who starred at the U.S. Naval Academy from 1984-1987, was drafted #1 overall by San Antonio. After he served two years on active duty, Robinson joined the Spurs for the 1989-90 season. He ended up playing his entire career in San Antonio, leading the organization to its first two championships. It’s the first week of college basketball season and Navy’s team is already getting some national attention. Fox Sports writer Jeff Goodman compiled a list of the top 50 college basketball marksmen and listed Navy senior guard Chris Harris 21st. Harris made 85 3-point baskets his junior year and has shot 40 percent from behind the arc over his last 51 games. Expectations are high for his senior year as he was chosen as the preseason Patriot League Player of the Year.
