We point you directly to the experts: Our good friends at MMAJunkie.com are reporting that former Marine Brian Stann has been scratched from his upcoming middleweight bout against Hector Lombard, which was to be a five-round main event for the Aug. 4 UFC on Fox 4 card in Los Angeles. MMAJunkie did not report the nature of the injury. It’s official – Army Staff Sgt. Tim Kennedy will step back into the mixed-martial arts ring for another shot at the Strikeforce middleweight title. Kennedy will fight reigning champ Luke Rockhold July 14 in Portland, Ore. Kennedy, a decorated Special Forces soldier who is now serving in the Texas Army National Guard, has a 14-3 record. During his last fight, in July, Kennedy defeated Robbie Lawler by unanimous decision. We’ve written about former Army reservist and current professional mixed martial artists Kris “Savage” McCray before. Don’t believe us? Shortly after that feature appeared in the Military Times print publications, “Savage” finished second in The Ultimate Fighter 11, submitting to a Court McGee choke in the second round of the season’s final match. It was his first of three UFC losses in nine months. After dropping a decision to Josh Hathaway last March, McCray was out of the top-tier fighting league.
