The former Marine — a genuine warrior who earned the Silver Star for his actions as a platoon commander in Iraq — is making his debut in the 185-pound weight class against Mike Massenzio. Ralph Houk was a lucky man, in more ways than one. When Casey Stengel left the Yankees, Houk took over, winning World Series titles in his first two seasons — the first in the midst of the chaos of Maris’ and Mantle’s assault on the home-run record in 1961.
