‘Tis the season for the Army-Navy game. So to help you get in the spirit we’ve gathered a few “Go Army, Beat Navy” spirit spots. We’ll debut the blog post with one of those comedic Action Figure Therapy spots. “Jungle” spouts off his top five reasons why Army will beat Navy in the upcoming bout. My personal favorite is number four, check them out. Grade: B Apparently therapy is a popular spirit spot subject this year for Army fans. Air Defense Artillery out of Fort Sill, Oklahoma is channeling the recent Geico commercial featuring R. Lee Ermey. Warning, a harsh tone…

As Navy safety Wyatt Middleton lifted up the ball and trotted into the endzone following his first half 98-yard fumble recovery, he said he had the Spirit Spot filmed by two West Point professors on his mind. That’s all the After Action team needed to hear. The Shake Weight is crowned king of Spirit Spots for the 111th edition of the Army-Navy game. Notice at the end how Army majors Stephen Hamilton and Chris Miller dubbed over Middleton’s voice much like those Coors Light commercials. Apparently Middleton didn’t appreciate the humor. He said he added a little bit of…
This is what the Army-Navy game is all about. Two sons looking up to their father, a professor at West Point, for a Spirit Spot he filmed using everyone’s favorite piece of workout gear, the Shake Weight. Maj. Stephen Hamilton, West Point class of ’98, filmed the Shake Weight spoof with his office mate Maj. Chris Miller, West Point class of ’99. The video is making the rounds on message boards and mass e-mails across the Army, and as of Friday morning, it has had over 16,000 views on YouTube. Hamilton’s sons, Jason and Aaron, are die-hard Army football…
The unintentional comedy scale readings are off the charts on this one. Sure, the first 18 seconds feature the same old bland commander setting up his unit to scream, “Go Army, Beat Navy!” But if you have the stomach to press through, you are richly rewarded with pure comedy gold. First, you have the Iraqi Col. Ali, who clearly has no idea what these soldiers are asking him to say, “Go Army, Beat Navy!” And just when you think the fun is over, Jim from “American Pie” comes out of nowhere with an enthusiastic cheer. Congrats, Jason Biggs. This…
The Midshipmen of Backshaft Productions have still filmed the best Spirit Spot spoof on the Old Spice commercials, but Army’s submission certainly beats out Air Force’s weak attempt. The Mids just delivered way more zingers than the Old Guard. I’d actually like to see what Backshaft could put together in response to this piece, considering their Geico spoof wasn’t on the same level of their earlier work.
The fitness tool that has sparked countless pranks and jokes has finally found its way into the Army-Navy Spirit Spots. All I have to say is it’s about time.
T-minus 10 days until the Black Knights face the Midshipmen in the latest installment of “America’s Game” at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. This is our first installment of spirit videos in preparation for the game. Nothing screams Go Army Beat Navy! quite like a Squid in his tighty-whities taking part in some “Risky Business” while having the dorm room to himself. Please send any submissions to mhoffman@atpco.com. Like always we’ll post the ones we receive and vote on the week’s best the Monday after the game. Let’s see what you got, cadets and Midshipmen.
